On this journey you can experience the whole variety Venezuela has to offer. Your trip starts with a city tour through the Venezuelan capital and continues to the Northwest of the country. In Morrocoy National Park you can observe the beautiful flora and fauna before heading to the colonial town of Coro. Further natural highlights await you with a visit to the Médanos in Coro National Park and an exciting stay in the jungle. Before spending some relaxing days at the wonderful beaches of Puerto Colombia, the highlight of this tour awaits you:The flight over the fascinating and world's largest water fall - the Angel Fall - will take your breath away...! Day 1 – Arrival at Caracas
Welcome to the bustling capital of Venezuela! After your arrival at the airport, you are taken to your Hotel Avila *** by your English speaking tour guide. Here you may recover from the long flight. (-/-/-)
Day 2 – City Tour Caracas
After breakfast, you start your city tour through Caracas. Besides the Plaza Bolívar, the Cathedral, and the National Foreign Office & Council, you also visit the National Assembly as well as the Museum of Colonial Art Quinta Anauco. Afterwards you head on to the teleférico and enjoy a wonderful view of the Venezuelan capital. Tonight you spend again in the Hotel Avila ***. (B/-/-)
Day 3 – Santa Teresa & Chichiriviche
This morning you start your journey with the first stop in Santa Teresa. Here you will visit the Hacienda Santa Teresa. In this estate the rum “Santa Teresa” is prepared and you can have a look at the plantation and processing of this rum during a little tour. Then you continue your trip to the Posada Paraíso Azul which is near Chichiriviche. Here you will spend the night after a delicious dinner is served. (B/-/D)
Day 4 – Morrocoy National Park
After breakfast you head towards Morrocoy National Park. This nature reserve with its continental and sea areas include mountains, shoreline, mangrove swamps, coral reefs and little islands with white sand called “Cayos”. Here you will go to the islands and enjoy the beautiful scenery on this trip. If you are lucky, you can also see dolphins, turtles, flamingos or pelicans as well as all kinds of birds and fishes. After this exciting trip, you stay in the same posada as the night before. (B/L/D)
Day 5 – Transfer to Coro
Today you continue your journey to Coro which is the oldest city in the west of Venezuela. After a 3-hour ride you reach the colonial town of Coro which was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1993. During your city tour you pass by the casa de las cien ventanas, casa de la poesía, casa de las ventanas de hierro, San Francisco and Clemente churches. From historic, colonial architecture to unique natural scenery, Coro presents a diverse set of tourist attractions. This colonial town conserves an urban landscape of typically 18th and 19th century appearance with cobbled streets and hundreds of historic and traditional buildings and the cross-cultural influences of Coro are probably unique. Day 6 – Médanos de Coro National Park & Península de Paraguaná
In the early morning you visit the Médanos de Coro National Park. In this park, the massive sand dunes, known as Médanos, spread over an area of approximately 5 by 30 kilometers. They can reach 40 meters in height and are constantly transformed by the unrelenting wind. Afterwards you head on to Península de Paraguaná. Here you visit the beaches of Adicora, el Supi and Tiraya. Then you continue your trip to Moruy where you visit a colonial church. The last stop of today’s trip will be the little mountain “Cerro Santa Ana”. After a little walk there you return to your hotel of the previous night. (B/-/-)
Day 7 – Transfer to Ciudad Bolivar
After breakfast you start your trip to Ciudad Bolivar. First you go from Coro to Caracas passing by Chichiriviche and many other towns. In the evening your catch your flight from Caracas to Ciudad Bolivar. Here you will spend the night in the Posada Casa Grande ***. (B/-/-)
Day 8 – Trip to the Jungle – Caura Lodge
Today your trip continues to the jungle of Venezuela. From Ciudad Bolivar you go to Caura which takes you about 4 hours. As soon as you get to the Caura Lodge you will be served a delicious lunch. In the afternoon you go for a little walk visiting local communities and Cerro Cangrejo. After your return to the lodge you will enjoy a nice dinner. Tonight you stay at the Caura Lodge. (B/L/D)
Day 9 – Jungle Excursions – Caura Lodge
After breakfast you go on an excursion by boat. During this trip you also visit an Indian community. Here you get an impression of their culture and way of living. In the area of Yacoré you have a small lunch before continuing your boat trip. While crossing the rivers, you can enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna. Once you are back at the jungle lodge, a tasty dinner will be served. You live in perfect harmony with nature and in the nights you are caught by the mysterious sounds of the jungle and the warm tropical breeze. Tonight you stay in the same lodge as the night before. Day 10 – Transfer to Ciudad Bolivar
Today your jungle adventure comes to an end. You start your trip back to Ciudad Bolivar in the morning. In Ciudad Bolivar you return to the Posada Casa Grande ***, where you will spend the night. (B/L/-)
Day 11 – Flight over the "Angel Fall (Salto Angel)" – Sapo Fall – Canaima National Park
Early in the morning, you head to the airport. Your flight in a bush plane lasts some 90 minutes, crossing the Gran Sabana, raging torrents and colorful Indian villages until finally the first table mountain appears on the horizon. Tension mounts! Your pilot checks the weather, hoping you will be lucky today. Then the plane leaves the clouds and all of a sudden you can see it, just below you: Salto Angel, the highest waterfall on earth! You take a quick shot with your camera and dive again into the clouds.
Landing on the small sandy runway of the mission station of Kamarata is one of the most exciting moments of today! Then you continue to the nice Sapo Fall and to Canaima, only reachable by plane or dugout. The Indian village has some 1,200 inhabitants, which makes it the largest village in the 30,000 km² national park. In 1994, UNESCO declared it a World Natural Heritage Site as one of the largest national parks in the world. Tonight you stay at the Tapuy Lodge ***. (B/L/D)
Day 12 – Canaima – Flight to Ciudad Bolivar
In the morning you have some free time e.g. for shopping or relaxing at the lagoon. At around 14:00pm you start your trip back to the landing strip and fly back to Ciudad Bolivar. Here you return to the Posada Casa Grande ***, where you will spend the night. (B/-/-)
Day 13 – Transfer to Puerto Colombia
Early in the morning you continue your trip with the final destination Puerto Colombia. In Ciudad Bolivar you catch your flight to Caracas. From there you head to Choroni. Then the most relaxing part of your holiday starts: beach time in Venezuela. You spend the night in Hotel Casagrande II *** in Puerto Colombia. (B/-/-)
Day 14 & Day 15 – Puerto Colombia
Spend the last days of your vacation relaxing on the beach. But there are also other possibilities: For example, you can visit one of the cacao plantations or the cloud forest in the Henri Pittier National Park. If you are a shopping fan you can stroll around the shopping mall of Puerto la Cruz. Tonight you stay at the same hotel as the night before. (B/-/-)
Day 16 – Transfer to Caracas
The time has come to say goodbye to this unique pearl of Venezuela. After breakfast you are taken to the airport of Caracas. Of course, your English speaking tour guide assists you with the check-in at Caracas airport. (B/-/-)
